چکیده

The increasing consumption of phenoxyacetic acid-derived herbicides is becoming a major public health and environmental concern, posing serious challenge to existing conventional water treatment systems. Among the various physicochemical biological purification processes, adsorption considered one most efficient popular techniques due its high removal efficiency, ease operation, cost effectiveness. This review article provides extensive literature information on by adsorbents. purpose this organize scattered currently used adsorbents for herbicide from water, such as activated carbons, carbon silica adsorbents, metal oxides, numerous natural industrial waste materials known low-cost capacity these was compared two herbicides, 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) 2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxyacetic (MCPA). application kinetic models isotherms in describing also presented discussed. At beginning paper, important has been collected, including their classification, properties, occurrence environment.

High-performances carbonaceous adsorbents for hydrogen storage

Activated carbons (ACs) with controlled microporosity have been prepared and their H2 storage performances have been tested in a gravimetric device. Such adsorbents are natural Chinese anthracites chemically activated with alkaline hydroxides, NaOH or KOH. Outstanding total storage capacities of hydrogen, as high as 6.6wt.% equivalent to excess capacity of 6.2 wt.%, have been obtained at 4MPa f...

Competitive Adsorption of Metals onto Magnetic Graphene Oxide: Comparison with Other Carbonaceous Adsorbents

Competitive adsorption isotherms of Cu(II), Pb(II), and Cd(II) were examined on a magnetic graphene oxide (GO), multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), and powered activated carbon (PAC). A series of analyses confirmed the successful synthesis of the magnetic GO based on a simple ultrasonification method. Irrespective of the adsorbents, the adsorption was highly dependent on pH, and the adsorpti...

cadmium removal from wastewater using carbonaceous adsorbents prepared from sunflower waste

this study reports the removal of cadmium from wastewater in batch mode, using two carbonaceous adsorbents viz. sunflower head carbon (shc) and sunflower stem carbon (ssc) prepared from waste biomass of sunflower. the adsorbents were characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ft-ir), scanning electron microscopy (sem) and energy dispersive x-ray analysis (edx). the results of bat...

Investigation of Polar Organic Adsorption/desorption from a Model Carbonaceous Surface: Acetone on Graphite

Optical techniques have been widely shown to be convenient, in-situ, and real time methods to investigate surface processes.[1] Compared with conventional surface probes, such as ion and electron spectroscopy, optical techniques are useful over a wide range of ambient conditions.[2-4] This study reports the adsorption and desorption of a model adsorbent representative of a volatile polar organi...

Adsorption Isotherms and Kinetics Models of Starchy Adsorbents on Uptake of Water from Ethanol – Water Systems

The adsorption equilibrium and kinetics of ethanol-water systems on starch-based adsorbents prepared from cassava were undertaken. These include modified cassava starch (MS), cassava starch (CS), cassava pellet (CP), and Cassava shred (AB). The adsorption equilibrium data were best represented by the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The adsorption kinetics was found to follow second order kinetics...
